CLBC 2021 Classic Open Fours Carnival – a fabulous weekend

Well the carnival is over but what a great weekend. Congratulations to all of the prizewinners and to all who competed over the weekend – there were some very close games and plenty of good spirit and enjoyment.

The Kawana boys, Geoff Harrison, Kurt Brown, Mark Munro and Louis Stumbris successfully defended their 2019 success with first place. Brad Piper of Pine Rivers combined with Chris Scott, Russell Morris and John Piper to take out second place. Our own Barry Gough and Bob Heterick with teammates John Heterick and Sean Kelly came in third and the Rixon and Bruce team from Maroochydore took fourth place.  Keith Mill’s Windsor team and the Lindsay Ross Caboolture team were the 4th and 5th round winners.

Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers from our club who worked very hard in the lead up to the competition, on the day and for the cleanup after the carnival. Thanks also to the staff of Caboolture Sports Club for looking after us so wonderfully as usual.  It takes a village to put on an event like this and the community spirit was alive and well in our bowls club. Once again our greenkeeper, Mark King, provided us with an exceptional green to bowl on – thanks Mark.

Thanks also to all the visiting teams and our own Caboolture teams for making the day such a success as without your support we have no event. We had teams from Maroochydore, Kawana, Kilcoy, Woodford, Kallangur, Narangba, Windsor, Yarraman, Darra, Lowood, Solander Lake, Pine Rivers and Woombye.  A special thanks to our Caboolture team, Brad Piper’s PR team and the Woombye Wombles who came in at the last minute when we had a few teams pull out unexpectedly.  We hope we will see all of you back next year.
